so i have put about 100 rounds of steel ( i got 200 ish for FREE) and went to this new indoor range in my home town today and decided to finish off these steel POS rounds bc they were free and i didnt have a problem the first time....MISTAKE ....after about 20 rounds i started having them fail to eject ... sweet ... BANG .....drop mag, clear double feed, recycle & eject spent cartridge. after about the 3rd i really got one stuck...so bad that i had to field strip my AR take my cleaning kit out and eject the cartridge sweet ....
so i know steel on AR's suck for many reasons the coating gets hot and little bits of it end up staying in the chamber and after some time and build up it acts as casing glue ....this is not good...not to mention most steel case ammo is made in russia ....... (in a russian accent) "mother russia we make lots of bullets so we save on quality control"
so here are some pics of where my extractor raped the steel case and did NOT eject
after this ordeal i will never EVER put a steel case anything down my AR brass is $2 more for 20....totally worth the money
